Fundraiser Night :: New House Shelter

Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a fundraiser for New House. New House offers a 24 hour-a-day fully staffed residential domestic violence education program and shelter for battered women and their children. Leslie, the president of New House, and Susan who is in charge of development, were there to speak for and about New House. These women truly have a passion for what they do, and the women they serve.
We were also treated to the culinary skills of Joe Avelluto, who was the owner of the former Il Trullo's in Overland Park.

My dear friend, Jayne, provided the pastry's for dessert. She does an outstanding job, and every time she starts baking, my diet goes flying out the window.... but it's well worth it!

Before our main course, Joe provided us with a cooking demonstration of his famous Vodka Rigatoni.... sooo delicious! Mine was gone way too fast; I kept checking everyone's plate to see if anyone had any left for me to confiscate :)

It was a wonderful evening for a wonderful cause!

About Christina

One of my favorite memories from my own wedding, aside from marrying my husband, was when my Dad walked me down the aisle and I leaned over and whispered to him, "I'll always be your little girl."  I love that moment!
It's moments that make up our lives, defines who we are, and ultimately create our destinies.  Many such moments have brought me to where I am today.  I began photographing in 2001, and began Sandberg Photography in the fall of 2006.  This has been a huge dream of mine, and I believe that God has given me a gift of capturing unique and special moments; without Him, I am truly nothing!  I owe this dream to Him!
