It's Fall!!

My favorite season is finally here!  I love Fall, I love the colors, I love the feel and smell of the cool crisp air.  I love the way the sky turns that deep color of blue.  I love blue jeans and long sleeve t-shirts.  I love bonfires outside and roasting marshmallows.  I'm in love with Fall!

On to other news... We have a new addition to our household... meet Chippie. We've seen him for quite some time now, but have only recently began making contact and feeding him.  My parents came in for a visit over the weekend, and my Dad became quite good friends with him; he even got him to eat right out of his hand.  Today, after I got home, I took out a handful of walnuts and my camera. He was less than a foot away in most of the shots below.

Okay, I know, pretty cheesy... but I couldn't help myself and had to set up a little scene :)

As you can tell from the shot below, he was quite the little pig.

I've decided to make him the "unofficial" mascot for Sandberg Photography.  I'll post updates on him from time to time.  I'm even thinking about incorporating him into my Christmas cards this year.

Joah :: 6 months

Last weekend my sister and her husband came up for a visit, along with my nephew, Joah.  I can't believe he is six months old now!  He is getting so big, and so active.  I have never seen a baby smile or laugh so much.  He is such a happy boy, which makes for a very happy Aunt!  Poor Joah didn't realize what he was in for when he came to visit Aunt Chrissy... hours of photos :)

We did a few shots in my front living room... he was such a character!

... and then he let me know he'd had enough
I would pay money to know what was going through his head in the shot below.

So darn cute!  I can't stand it!
I can't get enough of the cuteness!
Poor Joah, mommy bought him a giraffe outfit for halloween; Jay wanted a lion costume....grrrrr.
I know I'm not a mommy yet... who knows, this may be as close as I get; I don't know what the future holds for me.  I'm in love for sure!

Carmen and Bin :: wedding 9-7-08

For Richer or Richer...
My husband was the one responsible for bringing Carmen and I together. He overheard her mom, Virginia, at work talking about wedding plans and how they needed to find a photographer. Paul stood up from his cubicle and said "Someone say they need a photographer?" To top it all off, we found out that we were practically neighbors.

They decided on The Elms for their setting. I love the Elms, it has been so long since I've been there. It's such a great setting for weddings, and the staff are very good at what they do.
I love it when the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the ceremony. Many brides don't want to stray from the traditional "seeing each other at the ceremony first" and for a long time, I was the same. Aside from providing convenience for your photographer, seeing each other before the ceremony allows for you as the bride and groom to see each other before anyone else does. This is a totally private moment meant for just the two of you. Each couple's moment is unique and so special... it's one of my favorite moments of the day.

I can't wait to post the rest of these images. I'm always so honored to be a part of such a special time. Carmen and Bin, I know you have an amazing journey ahead of you. You have a beautiful family and I thank you for the opportunity to capture this day for you!

Rebecca and Eric :: Wedding 8-30-08

Every couple has a unique love story... their own version of the boy-meets-girl fairy tale. Rebecca and Eric are no different. They met while in college at the University of Missouri in Columbia. They both were a part of a Baptist student group, and with some orchestration from God, and a little persistence on Eric's part, their encounter turned into a relationship. Last Saturday, at the First Baptist Church just down the street from me, their relationship was sealed by a covenant made to God and their families.

It is always such an honor to witness two lives coming together. With Rebecca and Eric, I witnessed a genuine "becoming of one".

Rebecca and Eric, I thank you for honoring me with this opportunity! May God truly bless you in your new life together!

Makes me smile...

Last night I logged onto my myspace account and found the following bulletin posted from my recent bride, Kim:

Sep 2, 2008 9:34 PM
Subject:
wedding pictures!!
Body:
"All righty...Can I just say how much I LOVE our photographer. For anyone who is looking at needing a photographer...use her!! Christina Sandberg is the name and she is one of my friends on here. She also has a website
http://www.sandbergphoto.com. If you are interested in looking at or ordering pictures go to her website and look at client proofs. Find us under wedding and the password is kim. Let me know if I can help with anything! Thanks! Kim"

This was a general bulletin, and not really directed at me. Needless to say, it made me smile and appreciate even more why I do what I do; not for my glory, but to provide my brides with an amazing experience and images that they will treasure and look back on for years to come! Kim, thank you so much for this! Keep the word-of-mouth going!

About Christina

One of my favorite memories from my own wedding, aside from marrying my husband, was when my Dad walked me down the aisle and I leaned over and whispered to him, "I'll always be your little girl."  I love that moment!
It's moments that make up our lives, defines who we are, and ultimately create our destinies.  Many such moments have brought me to where I am today.  I began photographing in 2001, and began Sandberg Photography in the fall of 2006.  This has been a huge dream of mine, and I believe that God has given me a gift of capturing unique and special moments; without Him, I am truly nothing!  I owe this dream to Him!
