Camping Fun :: Sam A Baker State Park

I always enjoyed camping when we were younger, however, I do not enjoy it in the summer. Granted the summer time is best for water activities, but not for sitting around a campfire or sleeping in a tent. Sam A Baker State Park is located in my home town of Patterson, MO. My brother and his wife are both working there this summer, and because of that, we were able to get sort of a back stage pass to the park. It was great to spend some time with them, as well as with my Mom and Dad. (Click on the photos to enlarge and view them better.)
Note: some images were taken with a cheap point-and-shoot; please don't judge my ability by all of them :)

My Dad, with his walking stick below, reminds me of Old Man River.
It was so great to see my brother. He and I, along with Paul went floating on what was supposed to be a short trip on innertubes...Matthew kept telling us our exit was just around the next bend. When ended up getting caught in a storm and had to make a quick exit, and found we were still far away from our campsite.
Mike and Jodi are the park managers, and they blessed us with a great kayaking/canoeing trip. Everyone in the kayaks, except me, flipped over. We had several rough areas and one area with a tree over the entire river. It was a great teamwork experience, as well as a ton of fun!
As much as I enjoyed this trip, it was great to get back to my own home with my own toliet and shower!
There are many more images posted on my website at http://www.sandbergphoto.com/ for those of you who are interested. Make sure to go to Client Proofs when you get to the site!

About Christina

One of my favorite memories from my own wedding, aside from marrying my husband, was when my Dad walked me down the aisle and I leaned over and whispered to him, "I'll always be your little girl."  I love that moment!
It's moments that make up our lives, defines who we are, and ultimately create our destinies.  Many such moments have brought me to where I am today.  I began photographing in 2001, and began Sandberg Photography in the fall of 2006.  This has been a huge dream of mine, and I believe that God has given me a gift of capturing unique and special moments; without Him, I am truly nothing!  I owe this dream to Him!
