Kayleigh + Rob :: Engagement Shoot

Some would say they met by chance, but for those who know Kayleigh and Rob, know that their meeting goes far beyond chance. The course of their lives was being woven together long before they ever laid eyes on each other. Their destinies began colliding before a word was ever spoken between them.

They had known of each other through their church and friends for awhile. It was over a trivia game of "Saved by the Bell" that they found they both shared a common liking for the show. Kayleigh won the game, and won Rob's heart.
Some of you may remember my previous post on their mini session last month. I met up again with Rob and Kayleigh this past Saturday for their official engagement session, and to say the least... this couple has won my heart!

How could anyone not love these two... How cute are they!

It was cold, and very foggy, but Kayleigh rocked it out in her heals... I love this girl's style!

I love this next image... it makes me say "ahhh"

Rob will leave for baseball training soon. It's his passion next to God and Kayleigh. Kayleigh will stay back and finish the rest of the planning for their wedding next October. I can't wait for their day to get here! Kayleigh, I know it will be a long time apart, but remember what you told me, and what the older couple shared with you they day you got engaged...."Keep God at the center of your relationship, and put Him first in all things!"
I have also added a video/slideshow of their engagement session on facebook. CLICK HERE to check it out!
Rob and Kayleigh, I've said it before, and I will continue to say it... I am so very honored, and blessed to have met you both, as well as to have this amazing opportunity to document this time in your lives!

Quick Trivia: Remember when Jessie was addicted to caffeine pills? Who can remember the song she sang in her room?

Remember when...

Remember when you could see the grass on the ground? Remember when you could walk out to your car and not break your neck slipping on a sheet of ice? Can you remember what shorts look like?

While sitting here, longing for spring, I ran across these images I took at the end of last summer. I love these two people! They are perfect for each other, and expecting their third child this May. I find myself jealous of these images... they have grass, and sun, and she's in a sleeveless dress.... ahhhhh....

Now, I'm off to find my space heater...

Shooting, in the literal sense...

I'm finally beginning to come out of my holiday fog. Ever since beginning preparations for my bridal show last fall, things have been a flurry of album designs and holiday cards. Once Christmas came, I shut it all down. Today is the first day I've open photoshop in days... maybe weeks. While reacquainting myself with my files, I ran across a few images from this past Thanksgiving. Yes, you are seeing things correctly... that is my husband with a gun.

We spent Thanksgiving back in my hometown, and in true small town fashion, there was a shooting range just down the street. We decided to fire off a few rounds after our food coma wore off.

My sister and I did not have our earplugs... things get pretty loud out here!
My turn!
I felt like I could take over the world with this thing!

Hunkering Down...

Kansas City is currently facing it's 5th winter storm of the season... And winter has only officially been here for 2 1/2 weeks! It's during days like these, where nothing I do keeps me warm, and the snow continues to pile up outside, that I question my choice in living here. If I could, I would join the birds and fly south for the winter... yes, the entire winter. However, since I am committed to things here, and have yet to develop the ability to fly, I shall do my best to make the best of it. Today, I have decided to pull out some DVDs with seminars from some of the industry's best photographers, and take my plight of being stuck indoors, and turning it into a chance to hone in on my skills, and expand my knowledge base. I am rather excited for this new year. I've had a chance to meet some awesome brides, and am looking forward to all this year will bring. I mean, how cool is my job?! Shooting weddings are like attending a party every weekend! I have the ability to witness and capture one of the most important events in a couple's lives! I can hardly wait for the season to begin! Winter, I know you just arrived, but I am already done with you, so you may feel free to leave at any time.

As all blog posts are better with pictures, I leave you all with an image I grabbed over the holidays.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas, and a wonderful New Year! Here's to warmer weather, and new beginnings!
Cheers!

About Christina

One of my favorite memories from my own wedding, aside from marrying my husband, was when my Dad walked me down the aisle and I leaned over and whispered to him, "I'll always be your little girl."  I love that moment!
It's moments that make up our lives, defines who we are, and ultimately create our destinies.  Many such moments have brought me to where I am today.  I began photographing in 2001, and began Sandberg Photography in the fall of 2006.  This has been a huge dream of mine, and I believe that God has given me a gift of capturing unique and special moments; without Him, I am truly nothing!  I owe this dream to Him!
